MSA British Superkart Championship

Rounds 11 and 12: Castle Coombe, 8/9 August

The fast Castle Combe circuit was the venue for the penultimate meeting for the MSA Superkarts. It turned out to be a double win for James O’Reilly and brace of seconds for teenager James Tucker with Fleming and Platt taking a third each. All drivers displayed excellent race craft in both races in front of the large crowd.  In race 1 after a few laps O’Reilly managed to gain a comfortable lead leaving the rest of the pack to fight it out.  Race 2 was a different matter with the top places changing hands most laps. In both races the current and defending champion Jason Dredge retired with mechanical problems.

In theory the title is now in the hands of O’Reilly with a total of six race victories this season, but he will not be happy until after the final rounds at Mallory Park on the 5th and 6th of September.
