IVERSEN GRANTED WILD CARD SPOT

Denmark's Niels Kristian Iversen has secured his third FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) ride of the season with a wild card place at the forthcoming FIM Dansk Metal Nordic Speedway Grand Prix at Vojens, Denmark, on 29 August 2009.

The 27 year old Dane was the wild card at the FIM Dansk Metal Danish Speedway Grand Prix at PARKEN stadium, Copenhagen, back in June when he made the Final and was also called into the Latvian SGP as replacement for the injured world champion Nicki Pedersen when he reached the semi finals.

Iversen's inclusion means that four of the 16 riders competing at Vojens will be Danish, with current world champion Nicki Pedersen, the in-form Kenneth Bjerre and Hans Andersen making up the quartet.

Joining the Danish contingent as track reserves for the eighth round of the world championship SGP series will be Kenneth Hansen and Morten Risager who will wear the number 17 and 18 race jackets respectively.

The FIM referee will be Tony Steele (Great Britain).
