IPSWICH will stage an Under-25 Test match between Great Britain andAustralia on October 15.The one-off clash is expected to feature newly-qualified Grand Prix riderChris Holder, and GB boss Rob Lyon will include several members of his WorldCup squad.Ipswich rider-boss Chris Louis said: "This has all the makings of a terrific meeting, and we are proud and honoured to be awarded a Test match."

BIRMINGHAM have invited members of their local planning committee to see the sport's new Prodrive silencers in action at Perry Barr.The first two races of next Wednesday's Joe Thurley Trophy meeting will berun with the quieter equipment which could secure the club's future.Brummies boss Graham Drury said: "There is scientific evidence on the noise reduction, and we're inviting everyone to come along and form their own opinions."

BRITISH speedway president Terry Russell has confirmed that big-screen coverage of both Elite League play-off semi-finals will be provided on Monday.Swindon face Coventry and Lakeside take on Wolverhampton, and supporters will be able to follow both second-leg ties at the tracks.Russell said: "We've gone to considerable expense to do this, and it meanseveryone can enjoy what should be another terrific night of play-off speedway."

SCUNTHORPE stage the British Under-18 Championship on Friday with sixteen of the country's rising stars in action.Current Scorpions rider Jerran Hart and former team member Joe Haines are the two favourites, and the home club have a total of six riders in theline-up.Promoter Rob Godfrey said: "Jerran and Joe seem to be the outstanding candidates but we have a host of riders who can make the latter stages."
