The next round of the IRC will kick off in San Remo on 25th September and will play a major part in deciding this year's driver's honours. Peugeot UK's Kris Meeke will start the rally leading the standings but, by just one point from Skoda's Jan Kopecky.
The tarmac stages of San Remo will see Kris Meeke; in his Peugeot UK 207 S2000 continue his title battle with Skoda's Jan Kopecky.
With Skoda winning the last two rallies, Kris's focus will be on ensuring he finishes ahead of Jan when the rally finishes on Saturday 26th September. A good points scoring in San Remo will help Kris as the final round is in more familiar surroundings in Scotland, in November.
San Remo will also see the return of Francois Duval to the IRC, in a Fiat Abarth S2000 and Fiat will also have a strong presence on their home round.
A total of 24 S2000 cars will line up at the start of the rally on Friday including four different manufacturers. The rally will be contested over a total of nine special stages, totalling 201.7 km, before it finishes on Saturday 26th.
