TOMASZ Gollob insists Jason Crump deserves to win the world title on October 17.Gollob won the Italian round to go 17-points behind the Belle Vue star who is suffering from serious burns to his arm.Said Gollob: "Seven points, maybe no problem, but 17 is too much. And Jason deserves to be World Champion. But I will do my best in Bydgoszcz on my favourite track."

POOLE favourite Hans Andersen is keen to be back in the Grand Prix series next season.Andersen finished runner-up in Italy to bolster his chances of automatic qualification.He said "I have made a lot of mistakes this year, I have had too many engines and too many tuners. And not riding in England was wrong as well. But, hopefully, that is sorted now."

RICKY Ashworth romped to victory in the prestigious Premier League Riders'Championship.The Sheffield skipper beat Darcy Ward, Ty Proctor and David Howe in thefinal on his home track.He said: "A lot of people will say it was home track advantage, but itwasn't. The quality of riders in the field was superb and I had to reallyraise my game. It's an amazing feeling."

DARCY Ward believes his slow start in the final of the Premier LeagueRiders' Championship cost him a chance of victory.The King's Lynn man was in his final and was edged out by Sheffield's Ricky Ashworth.Said Ward: "I was disappointed. I've worked so hard all year. I came here as favourite and didn't pull it off. If I'd have made the start in the final I would have smoked him."
