KING'S Lynn's teenage sensation Darcy Ward is the new World Under-21champion.The Australian scored 13-points in Croatia to edge out Belle Vue's Patrick Hougaard, Wolverhampton's Tai Woffinden and former Swindon man Jurica Pavlic who all scored 12. Pavic won the run-off for silver.Woffinden's chances of glory were hit by a tapes exclusion in his opening ride. The other British rider, Eastbourne's Lewis Bridger, scored seven-points.

STOKE chief Dave Tattum is relishing the prospect of a Young Shield semi-final tie with Workington next weekend.The Potters will host the first leg on Saturday, October 10, with the return at Derwent Park the following afternoon.Said Tattum: "It's a magnificent achievement for us to be in the semi-finals and two meetings with Workington will be full of great racing - hopefullywith a Stoke win!"
