Team Rosberg aims to end season on a high note

Team Rosberg aims to enter the off-season on a high note by scoring a good result at the finale of the 2009 ADAC Masters GT season held at Oschersleben on 17/18 October. During the first-half of its debut season the Neustadt an der Weinstraße based team scored three podium finishes with the Audi R8 LMS and fought for the leading championship positions. A series of low scores during the second half at the season at the EuroSpeedway, the Nürburgring and Sachsenring forced regular drivers Nicolas Armindo and César Campaniço down to eighth and ninth positions. However, their recent good result in the GT3 European Championship has given the Frenchman and Portuguese fresh impetus. Armindo and Campaniço, who contest both the ADAC GT Masters in Germany and the European series for Team Rosberg, finished second at Le Castellet on 4 October and, in doing so, recorded their seventh joint podium result this year at the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS. "It goes without saying that this gives us fresh impetus before the final two races at Oschersleben,” agree the driver combination. The ADAC GT Masters season started for Team Rosberg at the same venue six months ago with a total of six points scored in the two races. The team improved in June at the European GT3 Championship event held in the Magdeburger Börde region with fourth and second positions. The 13 points scored then represent the best result for Armindo and Campaniço at an European championship event this year. "Even though we are now unable to fight for the leading ADAC GT Masters championship positions, at the very least we want to finish the season with a final good result,” explains Team Boss Arno Zensen. Twenty-three points separate the French-Portuguese duo from championship leader Christian Abt, up to 20 points are still to be awarded at Oschersleben. Also on the grid is the second Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS shared by Sakon Yamamoto from Japan and Brazilian Paulo Bonifacio. Up to now 41 drivers, including Sakon Yamamoto, have scored points in Germany’s highest calibre sportscar league. The Asian and South American also aim to finish the season on a high note at the 3.696 kilometre circuit in the Magdeburger Börde. Both races including driver change last 60 minutes. DSF broadcasts the highlights between 10:15 and 11:15 on 24 October.
