On the first day they took part in media exercises, fitness tests at Porsche Human Performance, panel interviews and a challenging fitness competition. In addition, the finalists were put through a Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS), which is the gold standard for bench-marking performance personality. Their scores were compared to those of Olympic gold medallists. The six finalists are:Rory Butcher; age 22 from Kirkcaldy, Fife"It's been the two most challenging days of my career. From the word go we were caught off guard with interviews. I've given 110% and that's all you can doI'd just like to thank everyone at Porsche for the opportunity. The car just blows your mind and you can really carry a lot of speed into the corners. Carrera Cup is where I want to be in 2010."Euan Hankey; aged 22 from Taunton, Somerset"The two days were extremely testing in all different areas. The interview process was tough and the physical training pushed all the right buttons to see what we were made of. This was the first time I'd driven any type of GT car and it was very challenging. I believe I was getting better at the end, but there was still a long way to go. The car was lovely to drive and gave me a lot of confidence."Andrew Herron; aged 21 from Co Down, Northern Ireland"It's a great programme and it's very intense. We went straight in at the deep end at 7am on the first day doing interviews. You're always wondering what is going to happen next, but it is very enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed driving the car. The track conditions were very tricky when we went out in the car."Michael Meadows; aged 21 from Oxford"It's been good fun and Porsche put on a great two days for us. The fitness tests were tough and driving the car was fantastic. I love the wet and slippery conditions; the driver can really make a difference. The car felt fantastic and I'm happy with the job I did."Joe Osborne; aged 20 from Olney, Bucks"It's been highly professional and I've enjoyed it. The fitness and media tests were very interesting and I learnt a lot of lessons on the media side. I think all six of us tried our best. It was damp and slippery for my first time in a Porsche and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learnt a lot and the car was very balanced and had so much traction out of the corners. The car was marvelous."Tom Sharp; aged 18 from Camberley, Surrey"The two days were great. I learnt so much and it has definitely improved me. Getting through last year showed me where I needed to improve. The standard is very good and the others guys are very competitive. I always seem to go well in the wet and I didn't want to get out of the car. It was brilliant."The 2010 Carrera Cup GB Scholars will be announced on Monday 26 October.
