Scuderia Coloni is ready to start a new adventure in the 2009/2010 season of GP2 Asia.After making an impression in the Main Series testing in Jerez, where the team managed toput a driver among the top positions on each day, the team managed by Paolo Coloni willstart in the Asiatic championship, on October 31 in Abu Dhabi, with a really promising lineup.The italian team two cars, sponsored by PartyPoker, will be raced by Brit WillBratt and by the Spaniard Roldán Rodriguez.
For Bratt, the seat is the prize for winning, just last weekend in Monza, the Euroseries 3000title; 21 years-old, Bratt in 2009 managed to clinch 4 wins and three second places, whichwere crucial for an hard fought championship win. In the previous seasons he raced inF.Renault Uk and in the Spanish F.3 championship, with very good results. His rostercomprehends 23 wins and 48 podiums, so the team has no doubt that he will be up to thetask.
For Rodriguez, racing for Scuderia Coloni will be a comeback. Roldán already raced forthe team managed by Paolo Coloni in 2008, both in the Asia and in the Main Series, withgood results. At 24, he will be the experienced driver of the team having already contestedthree full seasons in GP2.
Bratt and Rodriguez will jump in the Dallara cars this weekend for the first official testingsession in Abu Dhabi. On the Yas Marina circuit they will also contest the first two races, onOctober 31 and November 1, in occasion of Formula One’s last race of 2009.
