DAKOTA North has joined Newcastle in a loan deal from Elite League club Peterborough.The talented teenager will start the season on a three-point average thanks to his British passport.He said: "I'm delighted to be settling at Newcastle for my first PremierLeague break especially as my fellow Aussie Mark Lemon is up there and he will be a great help to have in the pits."

HOT Australian prospect Taylor Poole has secured a loan move to Stoke from parent club Peterborough.Poole, 18, is the son of Panthers legend Mick and was this week unveiled as a club asset for the Alwalton side.Stoke boss Dave Tattum said: "I'd like to thank the Peterborough management for allowing this to happen and I'm delighted. I've been working very hard on this."

TRAVIS McGowan has agreed a switch to Premier League club Glasgow.The Australian will start the season on a massive 11.72 average after spending the majority of his career in the Elite League.Tigers boss Stewart Dickson said: "He does come in on a rather high average but we feel that he will add significant strength not only to our team but also to the Premier League."

PETERBOROUGH have completed their new-look Elite League line-up by signing exciting Pole Krzysztof Buczkowski.The two-times World Cup gold medallist is the man the Panthers hierarch ybelieve could be a vital piece of a title-winning jigsaw.Team manager Trevor Swales said: "We were looking for a rider to complete our top seven and Krzysztof was one of half a dozen potential targets on ourlist."

NEWPORT have signed Swedish prospect Anders Mellgren and he will ride in the club's New Year Classic on January 3.Mellgren made a flying visit to South Wales and took the opportunity to practice at the Queensway Meadows track.Club owner Steve Mallett said: "He's the former World 80cc Champion and we're very excited about signing him. He has a very bright future ahead ofhim."

(SPEEDWAY 6) AARON Summers has revealed how he got the move he wanted when he secured a switch to Birmingham.Summers, who enjoyed massive success with Edinburgh, was a victim of the points limit with the Monarchs and immediately set his sights on the Brummies.He said: "I'm really pleased to be riding for Birmingham, I wanted to join them and it was great news when they told me they wanted me. I can't wait."
