(SPEEDWAY 1)PETERBOROUGH Director of Speedway Peter Oakes and co-owner Julie Mahoney have become co-promoters at the Showground.They join Rick Frost, who saved the club from closure in August 2008, in a new-look leadership team.The pair were interviewed by the British Speedway Promoters' Association Management Committee on Wednesday afternoon before being formally accepted as new co-promoters of the Elite League outfit.Rick Frost said: "The intention always was for Julie and Peter to join me as promoters but they had first to apply and be formally accepted by the BSPA."We have a united management team in place at Peterborough with everyone working successfully and happily together and this will continue under the new arrangement."I'm delighted to have Julie and Peter on board as co-promoters."(SPEEDWAY 2)SCUNTHORPE have announced their intention to again enter a team in the National League this season.The Premier League club use their third-tier squad with a view to blooding senior riders of the future, but had cast doubt over their 2010 involvement prior to this week's National League AGM.Promoter Rob Godfrey has stated that the Saints team for this season may include some assets of other clubs, but has pledged another young side will come to the tapes.Saints team boss Malcolm Vasey said: "Naturally I'm overjoyed that the Saints will be entering the National League this season. I can now start work in earnest on building the side and hopefully we can start to announce some signings soon."(SPEEDWAY 3)NATIONAL League newcomers Dudley Heathens have announced British Under-15 Champion Ashley Morris as their first signing.Wolverhampton-born Morris, who will be 16 in May, comes in on a 4.68 average established last season with Scunthorpe.Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: "I'm very happy that we have signed Ashley. I got to know both Ashley and Neil Painter (his coach) last season when he rode in a second half meeting for the Heathens at Newport that I team managed and he was always in my thoughts to include in the Dudley Heathens team."He has a nice style on the bike and is one of the most promising British youngsters around so I'm sure he'll continue his development with his local National League team."Dudley will announce their second signing at a public meeting next Thursday at the Cradley Heath Liberal Club.
