(SPEEDWAY 1) KING'S Lynn have been hit by the news that Alex Davies has been refused a British passport and won't be able to join the club this season. Davies will need to apply for a work permit which means his average will be too high to include him in the Stars side. Norfolk Arena chief Keith Chapman said: "It's heartbreaking for young Alex and very unfortunate for the club, we have had a specialist lawyer look into making an appeal but they do not believe it will make any difference. "This now means Alex will have to apply for a work permit to ride in the UK and instead of having an assessed average of three points it will now be five points, but hopefully this is not the end of Alex's career with us and we will see him in the team next season." (SPEEDWAY 2) SOMERSET are celebrating after securing the services of World Champion Jason Crump for their 10th Anniversary meeting. The Australian star has agreed to race at the Oak Tree Arena on Friday March 19 after missing out on Mark Lemon's Testimonial through injury last year. Rebels chief Debbie Hancock said: "To say that we are over the moon that Jason has confirmed his place in the line- up would be an understatement. "The field already had a star-studded ring to it, but to have the current World Champion is really something special." (SPEEDWAY 3) JASON Crump has revealed how he's only just declared himself ready to start the new season. The World Champion will return to his former track Peterborough for their opening meeting on March 15 after coming through testing in Australia following his serious arm injury last year. He revealed: "I said I'd definitely be at Peterborough for the first meeting if I could weeks and weeks ago. "At the time I wasn't sure if I'd be fit enough to start the season with everyone else and we agreed to keep it quiet rather than be seen to pull out. "I had some terrific times at Peterborough and won't ever forget that very first season when I was only 16 and we won practically everything. "I saw a couple of specialists in Australia and over the last few week things have gone really well. "I've actually been back on a bike and while I still find it difficult to hold a fork I can ride the bike okay."
