GLASGOW made a stunning start to the season with victory over Elite League Coventry in a Challenge fixture at Ashfield. The Tigers brought in Joe Screen from Wolverhampton as a guest, and he romped to a five-ride maximum including wins in the last two races.Coventry fought back from ten points down to lead with three heats to go -but Glasgow hit straight back with a 5-1 in Heat 13 and Screen then saw them home.Delighted Tigers boss Stewart Dickson said: "I am over the moon with the waythings went. We battled very hard and you could see that the riders were determined to get the season off to a flyer. "Make no mistake that Coventry are a top class outfit but on the day we were tremendous out of the starts and that allowed us to race hard and keep them under pressure for the entire match."
