Portuguese driver signs with Hungarian top team Zengo Dension Team for the 2010 Eurocup Seat Leon title attack.
Runner up of the Portuguese Touring Car Championship in 2009, the 24 year old driver together with Sowhat – Management, decided to sign with Zengo Dension Team for the competitive Seat Leon Eurocup, in which Duarte curiously has participated in 2008, where he fought for the title and was awarded to race in one WTCC round, as prize of winning one Eurocup race weekend at Oschersleben.
“After a very positive year racing in Portugal, coming back to race in International series was part of my plans and the proposal of Zengo Dension Team was undeniable, plus the fact that they are 2009 Eurocup Champions which gives me confidence to fight for wins. I’m very motivated to attack the title together with Zengo”, said.
The Seat Leon Eurocup starts in 23/23 May and is composed by six double race weekends which will take place in Monza (Italy), Zolder (Belgium), Brands Hatch (UK), Brno (Czech Republic), Oschersleben (Germany) and finally Valencia (Spain), being apart from this also confirmed the presence of Duarte Felix da Costa in the race of Portimao of the Supercopa driving the Seat Leon Supercopa with 310 hp: “The most important thing at the moment is the relation with the team, I have been recently at Budapest on the workshop and I was very impressed with Zengo, and I felt that they are very confident and enthusiastic about the new season and that gives me even more confidence. I know the level of this series is very high but the spirit is the same between me and the team, win mentality.”, concluded the touring car race winner.
Zengo Dension Team will be involved with three cars in the 2010 edition of the Seat Leon Eurocup, being Duarte one of them. The Hungarian Team owned by Zoltan Zengo joined this year the WTCC field with Norbert Michelisz on a Seat Leon TDI, which can be a good prospect for the future of the Portuguese driver.
