Round 2: Knockhill, 25th April
Andy Scott triumphed in the second round of the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship at Knockhill on Sunday. The Scotsman won the Supercar A final, with polesitter David Binks finishing last after losing time to an incident triggered by a first corner spin for Pat Doran. While Doran recovered and chased Scott home in second place, Binks could do no more than restart his car and complete the race in eighth. The drag race to the first corner in the Superfinal was a close affair, with Scott out-braking Andy Grant into the first turn to take a lead that he then held to the flag. “It’s great to win because the team has put a lot of work into the car over the winter and everyone was a bit down after round one,” said Scott. Results - Superfinal (five laps)1 Andy Scott (Peugeot 306) 4m07.390s2 Andy Grant (Ford Focus) +5.634s3 Gareth Wood (Subaru Impreza)4 Pat Doran (Ford Fiesta ST)5 Julian Godfrey (Ford Fiesta ST S1600)6 Mike Howlin (Ford Fiesta ST RWD)Championship positions (provisional) after Round 2 1 Julian Godfrey - 48 points2 Andy Scott - 453 Andy Grant - 454 David Binks - 445 Mike Howlin - 426 Pat Doran - 40
