Chris Borich and his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 won their fourth GNCC ATV race this weekend at Loretta Lynn's in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
The defending 2009 ATV Champion approached Round 5 of the series ready to race and win; at which he has proven himself extremely capable. After a strategic pass from second to first on the last lap of the race, Borich crossed the finish line for the win.
"It's great to get another win and I had a lot of fun battling these guys," said Borich. "My Suzuki R450 was great and the power was there when I needed it."
Borich started the race off by grabbing the holeshot. He led the first muddy lap while his competitors watched his lines and made their plan of attack. Borich got passed on the muddy course, but he stayed near the front and battled his way through the race. With the rain-soaked course making for a very interesting two hours on the track, Borich pulled off once to get a fresh set of goggles. While the pit stop put him back a little in the competition, his QuadRacer R450 had the power and the ability to make great time and he was able to make his way to the front of the pack and on the last lap he found himself in second place. When the opportunity presented itself, Borich used the fuel-injected R450 to power his way into first place and give himself a three-second lead as he crossed the finish line.
The win puts Borich 22 points ahead in the series with eight races left in the season. The next round of GNCC action takes place in Yadkinville, North Carolina on May 8.
