Gilham makes a wish come true at Brands Hatch

Porsche Carrera Cup GB racer Tony Gilham made a wish come true for seven-year old Drew James during the Brands Hatch race weekend (1/2 May).Drew is a car fanatic who lives close to the Brands Hatch circuit. When he was diagnosed with myeloid leukaemia, the Starlight Children's Foundation Charity told him that he could make three wishes. One of those wishes was to have a ride in a racing car.So, with assistance from MotorSport Vision, the British Automobile Racing Club and Porsche Cars GB, Gilham was able to make Drew's wish come true with some high-speed laps of the Brands Hatch GP circuit during Sunday's lunch-break. Drew was strapped into the Collins ReDesign Racing Porsche for a truly memorable blast around the track during the touring car meeting. "I was relieved to finish the first race on Sunday morning with the car in one piece," said Gilham, knowing that if the car was damaged, he would not be able to give Drew his passenger ride. The Starlight Children’s Foundation Charity brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by making their wishes and dreams come true.
