(SPEEDWAY 1)POOLE showed their strength with a huge 59-33 win at Ipswich in their final regular Elite League match of the season. The league leaders are favourites to reach the play-off Final after drawing at Wolverhampton earlier in the week, but there was no let-up at Foxhall as they demolished a below-strength Witches side - despite the absence of Bjarne Pedersen (illness) and Jason Doyle (shoulder).Australian ace Chris Holder scored a four-ride maximum with Darcy Ward, Leon Madsen and Artur Mroczka all in double figures.Promoter Matt Ford said: "I am mightily relieved that we came out of that meeting unscathed. We stayed safe and still registered our biggest away win of the season, but let's not forget that this was a weak Ipswich side who had nothing to ride for."

(SPEEDWAY 2)COVENTRY registered their eighth straight win, and their sixth on the road this season, with a 46-44 victory at Swindon. The Bees' win at Blunsdon was perfect preparation for their play-off semi final at Peterborough on Monday where they will defend a 14-point first leg lead.Edward Kennett top-scored for the Brandon side with ten points, including three race wins, whilst Leigh Adams' final home League appearance for the Robins saw him drop just one point to an inspired Ben Barker in Heat 10.Coventry boss Alun Rossiter said: "Monday is the focus for us but it's nice for us to keep on winning. I was also pleased to see Leigh finish well because he's a legend of the sport and I've ridden and worked with him during a lot of my career."

(SPEEDWAY 3)NEWCOMERS Leicester have named their first signing for 2011 with Russian racer Sergey Darkin signing on for the club. The Lions plan to enter the Premier League next season at their purpose-built Beaumont Park facility, and promoter David Hemsley is delighted to have Darkin on board. He said: "As this is our first forage into the transfer market I felt that it was important to give fans a rider who they could immediately relate to in the new Lions team."Sergey is a firm favourite with supporters who have already built up a deep affection for him after his high scoring exploits for the Lions in our three challenge match fixtures at Sheffield, Swindon and King's Lynn."
