European F3 at Brands Hatch

Brilliant win of Toño Fernández in Race 2Double win for Noël Jammal in the CupRace 1: Barba beats McCallum in EnglandBarco Barba (Cedars Motorsport) took a resounding success in Sunday morning’s race 1 atBrands Hatch, clinching his fifth success of the season and increasing his gap in thechampionship on his main rival, Briton Callum McLeod, who could not take anyadvantage from the pole aor racing in front his home crowd.Barba made the best start ahead of McLeod (Motusl West-Tec), Fernández, Fumanelli,Monje, and Sistos while Correa had technical problems and Bulnes (who took thestart with a new engine) was slowed by problems on his car which was heavily damaged Saturday.Barba pulled away easily but on lap 4 the safety-car was deployed as Montserrat crashed. At therestart, Barba kept ahead of MacLeod, while Fumanelli and Monje closed upon Fernández for third.The race saw a thrilling finale fightfor third, as Fernández suffered a puncture on the lastlap and was passed in the final meters by Fumanelli, Monje and Sistos.Race 2: Flag-to-flag win for FernándezRace 2 had a clear story, as Toño Fernández Da Silva made  perfect use of the polein the reversed grid to take a flag-to-flag victory, the first one this year for the HacheTeam driver. Fernando Monje (EmiliodeVillota Motorsport)  kept second position for theduration of the race.   He resisted the charge of the championship top guns, Callum MacLeodand Marco Barba, who had climbed  through the field and keep the title battle alive.Both had to fight with Juan Carlos Sistos, who was third in the initial laps.Eventually, the young Mexican ended up in the gravel on lap 9, causing the safety-carto go out for a couple of laps. At the restart, Victor Correa made a mistakeand hit the wall, while  Abadín had to retire at the same time. RP Motorsportdrivers Ceccon and Fumanelli finished fifth and sixth.Noel Jammal (Cedars Motorsport) took a double win among the Cup cars, again aheadof Filgueira (Drivex) and Beretta (RP).Championship: 1. Barba, 104 – 2. McLeod, 91 – 3. Fernández, 58 – 4. Fumanelli, 54– 5. Ceccon, 46.
