Brands Hatch finale for Pirtek Racing

The 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will come to a head this weekend at the Brands Hatch Circuit in Kent. After nine rounds and 27 races, the maiden season for the Pirtek Racing team is almost over. Andrew Jordan will be looking to take the bright colours of the blue, red and yellow Pirtek car to the podium this weekend as the fight for the championship reaches fever pitch.

After starting the last race at Donington Park from pole position and running within the top three for the majority of the race, the Pirtek team will be looking to maintain momentum into Brands Hatch. The Kent Circuit is the nearest to a home race for Pirtek, ,whose headquarters and 22 of its 90+ Hose Centres are in the South East ,  and with several hundred guests coming along to support the team, all will be looking to end the season on a high.

Jordan commented ahead of this weekend, “I can’t believe the last race of the season is already upon us, I’ve really enjoyed this year, we’ve had some great results and we have learnt so much. This season was always going to be a learning curve with us being a new team and running the new TOCA Turbo engine in the Vectra chassis, but we’ve become winners this season and we have qualified within the top ten for every race this season, so we’ve showed our potential.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of the Brands Hatch Indy circuit - it’s really tight and undulating. It creates really close racing and with the top four in the championship all vying for points, and team like us who can also get in the mix, then I think the fans are in for a treat this weekend. As always our aim is to be up within the top five and hopefully be in with a chance of a podium and an Independent Team win, I’m excited about our prospects this weekend.”

The final round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch will kick off with two practice session this morning before a 30 minute qualifying session, streamed live on ITV’s website, during the afternoon. Three races will take place on Sunday afternoon - all live on ITV4.
