Matech in Top 3

With a new racetrack in Spain, Matech Competition’s drivers made a good job in qualifying at the circuit of Navarra, for Round 8 of the FIA GT1 World Championship.

After a fabulous pre-qualifying session with pole position for Matech Ford GT1 n°5 and P-7 for Matech Ford GT1 n°6, the qualifying session was successful with a 3rd place for car n°6 driven by Neel Jani and Nicolas Armindo. Car n°5, driven by Richard Westbrook and Thomas Mutsch finished in p11.

The Reiter Lamborghini n°25 of Ricardo Zonta and Frank Kechele secured pole position for today's Qualifying Race. The duo produced a best lap time of 1:36.118. Second was the Triple H Hegersport Maserati n°34 of Alessandro Pier Guidi and Nico Verdonck with a 1:36.329.

Third was the Matech Ford GT n°6 of Neel Jani and Nicolas Armindo with 1:36.407.

The Matech Ford GT n°5 of Richard Westbrook was 11th with 1.37.019.

As it’s a 2 day race event, Sunday October 24th will be a very important day because of the busy schedule:
