SWINDON have confirmed that Simon Stead will take over the club captaincy from the retiring Leigh Adams next season.Adams officially handed over the armband at the Robins' end-of-season dinner-dance to a surprised Stead, whose return to the Abbey Stadium in 2011is seen as a formality.Stead told the Swindon Advertiser: "The management were aware I wanted to stay, but for it to happen in this environment and for Leigh to hand over the captain's armband is just unbelievable. "It was an emotional moment and something that I'll never forget. I'm so pleased and I just really hope I can do it justice."

KING'S Lynn Young Stars boss Dale Allitt insists his team can overturn a 23-point first leg deficit to lift the National League Knockout Cup on Wednesday.Allitt's side take on favourites Buxton in a double-header at the Norfolk Arena with the Cup Final being staged first, followed by a league match.Allitt said: "Maybe we ran over some black cats over on our way up to Buxton or something because we were extremely unlucky in the first leg. "But that fills me with confidence for the second leg because I know we were actually out-riding them and on our home track we will have every chance of beating them by more than 23 points."Fans should be proud of what such a young and local team has achieved this season and I hope they all come to support the team."
