Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship

Round 6: Walter's Arena, 23-24 October Tim Dilworth was crowned Britpart MSA British Cross Country Champion after finishing second on the final round of the season at Walter’s Arena, which was won by Justin Birchall. Heavy rain overnight made for a slippery opening run on the eight-mile course. Birchall was quickest out of the blocks in his Peugeot M206 Evo, while the two main title contenders, Dilworth and Stephen Hiatt, battled behind. However, Hiatt retired after the third run with a gearbox problem, leaving Dilworth with an open goal.“I’m ecstatic with the title, the car ran like a dream,” said Dilworth. Meanwhile event winner Birchall said: “I’m very happy with my first win at this level. The course was excellent and it’s been a great weekend.”Results1 Justin Birchall (Peugeot M206 Evo) 1h53m30s 2 Tim Dilworth (Peugeot 206 STi) 1h53m34s3 Martin Gould (Mattserati) 1h55m39s4 Gordon Monaghan (Monaghan RS) 2h11m09s5 Charlie Evans (Rakeway Ridgeback) 2h12m14s6 Ryan Cooke (Land Rover Defender) 2h13m19s
