Porsche Carrera Cup GB teams support charity karting
Two teams from the Porsche Carrera Cup GB contested the '21&Co Go Kart for fun, but try and win' charity event on Wednesday evening (27 October). The event, organised by Matt Witham and Malcolm Griffiths, was designed to raise funds for 21&Co, a family-based charity in Teddington that provides essential support for children with Down syndrome and their families. The event has already raised over £2500 and there is still time to donate to this worthy cause. The karting event was held at Daytona Raceway at Sandown Park and the Carrera Cup A team included former champion James Sutton, current frontrunner Michael Caine and 2010 race winner Stephen Jelley. The second Carrera Cup team included team boss Stuart Parker along with Rob Boakes and Alan Hudson from the championship's parts and technical crew.Although the exact results of the event were clouded by penalties for driving infringements, corner cutting and some rather dubious driving tactics, everyone had a great time and the real winner was the charity, which received a welcome financial boost.Further donations will be welcomed and can be made via the Just Giving page at:http://www.justgiving.com/karting21
