Heavy Points, Key Objective For The Cruzes In Okayama After Qualifying

Huff (3rd), fastest among front-wheel drive cars – Menu (7th) and Muller (8th)

ideally placed for Race 2

It was a well-fought qualifying session in Okayama, which ended with the three Cruzes in the top eight. Rob Huff was third-fastest and the best among front-wheel drive cars, while Alain Menu and Yvan Muller took the 7th and 8th best times, respectively.

With these results, the Chevrolet drivers, who were satisfied with how the set-up and balance worked out on the Cruzes on this very demanding track, are well positioned for both races today, which will certainly be interesting, as tire consumption will play a key role and rain may be an additional variable.

The objective for the Chevrolet team is to gain as many points as possible to protect the leading position in both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ championships ahead of the WTCC grande-finale in Macau.
