Malaysian oil and gas company BHPetrol has been named as the main sponsor of the Formula Drift Asia 2010.
Under terms of the deal, BHPetrol is responsible for fuelling all contenders with its recently launched high performance fuel, Infiniti Advanced2x 97.
The petrol company has been active in the go-karting arena with the AXLE BHPetrol Racing Team and is now involved in the “going sideways” motorsport culture. BHPetrol is also behind the Driven automotive review program which enjoyed its first season this year and is looking to premiere its second season sometime next year.
This year’s Formula Drift Asia is made up by three rounds which kicked off in Singapore earlier this year. It will be followed by an event in Thailand later this month before having its season finale in Malaysia on 18th and 19th of December.
The event will lure up to 50 drifters from across the region and see top drifters including Tengku Djan, Azrina Jane, Daniel Woolhouse and Ryuji Miki compete for the top prize.
