Scuderia Toro Rosso is no stranger to young drivers and next week, onTuesday and Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, another youngster will get his firsttaste of driving a Formula 1 car at the wheel of our STR5. Jean-EricVergne is a product of the Red Bull Young Driver programme and thisyear he won the British International Formula 3 championship, taking 13wins, 20 pole positions and 14 fastest race laps.

“I am delighted to be given this fantastic opportunity and would like tothank Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso,” said the 20 year oldFrenchman. “To date, my only experience behind the wheel of a Formula1 car has been driving the Red Bull Racing car at the Goodwood Festivalof Speed. Apart from that, I have spent a lot of time in their simulator,providing feedback during the Grand Prix weekends. I am looking forwardto these two days in Abu Dhabi and hope there will be other opportunitiesto drive an F1 car in the future.”

Jean-Eric will be available for interviews at our team hospitality in the YasMarina paddock on Sunday 14 November at 13h30. He will then do ashort interview session at the end of each of the two test days.
