Asia Racing Team thrilled ahead of home Formula BMW Pacific race

Rnd 15 – Circuito da Guia, MACAU

2010 AFR Series champions Asia Racing Team will take a three driver line-up to the 57thMacau Grand Prix. Newly crowned Formula Challenge Japan Juichi Nakayama will make hisdebut in Macau, as will his compatriot Ryo Hirakawa. Also joining ART’s Japanese racers willbe Chi Chong Li who has previously raced with ART this season in the AFR Series.

Representing host Macau, the local racing outfit Asia Racing Team is looking forward strongperformance at the “home track” Circuito da Guia. After the astonished performance inOkayama, Nakayama travels to Macau keen on resuming his charge towards a podiumposition. Under the guidance of T.D.P., the 19 years old driver from Tokyo hopes his yearsof experience will get him up to speed quicker than some of the younger drivers.

Hirakawa also had his first experience of the ART Formula BMW car in Okayama and willmake his first visit to Macau. The 16 years old driver from Hiroshima has shown good speedat debut event, and is looking for a good result in Macau in order to take the step up toFormula 3 next year.

Completing ART’s line-up will be Chi Cong Li who will be one of the youngest competitors.The 17 years old driver from Guangzhou never drove a Formula BMW car before but his twoyears experience in Formula Renault give him the background to deliver a surprisingperformance.

The Guia street circuit is famously known as one of the most demanding circuits in the worldand is not for the feint-hearted though. The event has traditionally proved difficult and manytimes victory has gone to those who were just lucky to be in the right place at the righttime.

Speaking ahead of the “home race” event, Team Manager Philippe Descombes, said, “We'relooking forward to our annual trip to Macau, which is always a highlight of theseason because we are racing at home. We've got a great driver line-up for thisyear. It will be important for all of them to make the most of the track time andbuild up to the pace without making any mistakes. We are aiming for Top-5result”.

The 57th Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 18-21. After practice on the ultratightstreet circuit on November 18, Asia Racing Team drivers will qualify on Saturday,November 20, while the 10-laps is on Sunday, November 21 at 8.45am local time.
