ELITE League Speedway newcomers Birmingham have swooped to sign GreatBritain international Danny King for their return to the top flight.King, 24, was looking for a new club after Ipswich dropped into the PremierLeague and quickly agreed terms with Brummies boss Graham Drury.The Perry Barr club have also snapped-up exciting Danish youngster ReneBach, who will take a doubling-up spot in their team whilst lining up forNewcastle in the Premier League.King said: "This is a fresh start for me and I am thrilled to be linking upwith Birmingham and the exciting challenge of taking them into the EliteLeague."Birmingham is a good track with good facilities and I'm sure it can be asuccess in the Elite League. RISING Danish star Patrick Hougaard has become Belle Vue's first confirmedsigning for the new season.The highly-rated 21-year-old has made good progress since first appearingfor the club in 2008, and he captained his country to this year's WorldUnder-21 Team Cup title.Operations Director Chris Morton said: "It is excellent news that Patrickwill be back again next year for his third full season with us. There are alot of good, young Danish riders coming through at the moment and Patrick iscertainly one of the best of them."We look forward to his continued improvement next season because there isno doubt in my mind that he has a long way to go in the sport."

KEVIN Wolbert has agreed terms to remain with Edinburgh - and has pledged tomake UK racing his top priority in 2011.The popular German has ridden for the Monarchs since August 2009 andaveraged just under eight last season despite suffering a back injury.He scored a maximum on the night the club clinched the Premier League titleat Stoke, and followed that up with an impressive fourth place in theprestigious Czech Golden Helmet.Wolbert said: "I like Edinburgh and their fans and I am very happy to beback. We have had a successful time and I enjoy riding for the Monarchs."
