Hot on the heels of the 14th Annual Skip Barber Karting Scholarship Shootout, Skip BarberRacing School is announcing the schedule for the 14th year of the Skip Barber National RaceSeries.
The 2011 14-race season of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda will kickoff at Sebring International Raceway, joining the festivities of the legendary 12 Hours ofSebring. From there, the racers will compete on some of America’s best road courses: VirginiaInternational Raceway, Lime Rock Park, Road America, Road Atlanta, and Mid Ohio Sports CarCourse.
Virginia International Raceway, Road America, Road Atlanta and the finale weekend at LimeRock Park will be in conjunction with the Skip Barber Regional Race Series. This not onlyguarantees the drivers more race time, but allows the option for them to pick up additional seattime through Lapping Sessions and similar activities. Drivers will also be able to receive evenmore coaching and feedback, as more Skip Barber Racing School instructors will be at thisevent.

The winner of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda receives funding tocompete in USF2000, the next step in the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development LadderSystem. Along with BFGoodrich and Mazda, Parathyroid.com and California Scents will returnin 2011 as trusted partners. Skip Barber Racing School will also continue its relationships withFlorida Winter Tour and the World Karting Association in solidifying the foundation of theopen-wheel motorsports latter system.
Earlier this month, young racers Trent Hindman, 15, and Danilo Estrela, 17, both attended theSkip Barber Karting Scholarship Shootout and each received scholarships to compete in the full2011 season of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda. 15-year old TristanNunez won a scholarship for half of the 2011 season.
The Skip Barber National is the series that launched the auto racing careers of Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti, A.J. Allmendinger, and Joel Miller, plus dozens of other driverssucceeding in IndyCar, NASCAR, Grand-Am, American Le Mans Series, and the SCCA. SkipBarber National drivers have won at the prestigious Formula Ford Festival and last year, twoSkip Barber National Champions, Conor Daly and Connor De Phillippi, won the annual WalterHayes Trophy. Up-and-coming young Skip Barber National alumni also include AlexanderRossi, Sage Karam, Spencer Pigot and Felix Serralles.
