Nurburgring Opportunity for GT3 runners Porsche Club Championship features 16 rounds for 2011 Seasons end at Silverstone GP circuit

Porsche Club GB can now announce the 2011 race schedules for the two circuit race series they administer, the new Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge and the highly successful Porsche Club Championship. The season will kick off for both series at Brands Hatch in April, and features rounds at the UK’s major circuits, with 12-rounds currently scheduled for the GT3 Cup Challenge and 16-races for the Porsche Club Championship.

A highlight for the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge runners is the possibility of joining a host of international Porsche runners for a meeting on the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, an exciting opportunity for drivers to take on fellow GT3 runners on the full 13-mile track. The meeting is by invitation only, and invites will be extended to drivers who have supported the series in the races leading up the Nurburgring race date.

The Thruxton rounds in particular will be a pivotal moment in the Club Championships season, the high-speed nature of the Hampshire circuit often seeing the Class Two cars able to match the pace of the Class One front-runners. As has now become traditional, the season for both series will close at the Silverstone 24-Hour meeting in October, this is currently scheduled as a double-header round, but it is hoped that as in 2010, this will actually feature three races on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.
