THE GIRLS GO WEST FOR 2011

The ladies of Bognor Regis Motor Club Ltd are heading west to North Devon and West Somerset. The host hotel is the very well-appointed and located Saunton Sands Hotel at Braunton, nearr Barnstable, North Devon. (www.brend-hotels.co.uk/TheSauntonSands/Home.cfm)

Clerk of the Course Ali Green and Route Designer Ann Locks have now completed the first route check. The scenery was stunning and no doubt Exmoor in the Spring will be even more delightful!

There are very few places left. If you wish you join us, please download a flyer for 2011 from www.theregisclassictour.co.uk and send this back with your deposit cheque as soon as possible. So far, there are 14 different marques with 11 Jaguars and ten Austin Healeys on the entry list!

The ladies have also negotiated some very special rates at the hotel for those wishing to make a long weekend of it. Thursday & Sunday nights will be charged at £60 per person (for dinner, bed & breakfast, inclusive of VAT). The Saunton Sands Hotel has a fantastic Beach Cafe Bistro - "Sands Cafe Bar" - situated below the hotel, and reached via a cliff path. Rather than take a trip out on Sunday night this year, the ladies are planning a "Paella Party" in "Sands" for those wishing to get involved. If you prefer a quiet night in, dinner will be served in the restaurant.

Entry fee: £620 per crew of two. This will include: accommodation, dinners, breakfasts, meals and refreshments en route, entry fees, toll roads and parking during the event; easy-to-use tulip road book; rally plate; souvenir photograph; finisher's award. The attentive service of the ladies of the club will ensure that your weekend is memorable. In addition, all participants will have the peace of mind service of our mechanics, who will do their best to ensure that you will complete the route in your cherished classic.

The venues for 2011 have all been finalised and the exciting itinerary gives you the chance to experience the best scenic roads this delightful area of the country has to offer.

SPONSORS

William Frost of Frosts (www.frosts4cars.co.uk) has agreed to continue his very generous sponsorship of the event for a fourth year, so let us all make a difference to the lives of cancer sufferers. We require donations of Tombola and Auction prizes; if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

We have already had the following superb items donated: Castle Combe Motor Circuit are donating four adult tickets to a Spring meeting in 2011; Norfolkline are donating a Dover/Dunkirk ferry crossing; there are hot laps around Goodwood Motor Circuit with five-times Le Mans winner Derek Bell and a weekend break at Saunton Sands Hotel.

With holidays in mind, we have two lots ideal for those wanting to sort out this year's holiday dilemmas: Sarah and John Harmer are donating a week's holiday at their cottage in the Peak District, while Mark and Debby Harding have offered their Devon cottage as another lot.

On top of that, our long-time supporters Autosports-Galley have donated a fabulous Alfredo de la Maria print of Sir Stirling Moss in action, which we hope to have signed before the Auction.

Peter and Gloria Gurton are donating a Castle Combe Racing School voucher; Maggie Wright has donated one of her wonderful turned wooden bowls; our lovely friends at CB Finest Italian Leather have offered one of their wonderful holdalls; Brighton & Hove Motor Club have donated pairs of tickets to the Brighton Speed Trials in 2011; plus, we have sets of Castrol Classic oil cans, RAC Winter Car Kits, and Morris Golden Film Oil for the tombola. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for lots and prizes for next year.
