Hetherington joins Red Line Racing for Carrera Cup GB

Porsche Carrera Cup Scholarship winner Benji Hetherington has signed to race for Red Line Racing in this season's Carrera Cup GB.The Cheshire-based racer, who will celebrate his 19th birthday shortly before the start of the season, has joined the team that has won the overall drivers' title for three of the last four seasons with James Sutton and Tim Harvey."I felt that Red Line Racing was a good environment for me," said Hetherington as the news was announced from the Porsche stand at Autosport International. "It's a great team of guys with very good engineers and they are the reigning champions, so they clearly know what they are doing."Hetherington and the team will start testing as soon as the new 911 GT3 Cup cars are delivered. "I just can't wait to get out in the car. We've got a testing programme booked ahead of the opening race weekend at Brands Hatch. I want to be on the podium as soon as possible."Team boss Simon Leonard is delighted to have signed Hetherington. "We ran Benji in a test late last year and I was very impressed with him. He'll be an asset to the team and he's going to be quick. I think he'll be right up there."
