2011 GP3 Series calendar and entry list revealed

The GP3 Series is proud to unveil its 2011 race calendar. Eight rounds have been confirmed for the season, with a ninth race weekend in Monte Carlo still to be confirmed. Once again all of the events will support the Formula One World Championship, and will run alongside big sister series GP2. The Series will kick off its second season in Istanbul, Turkey on 07-08 May when the Formula One European campaign kick-starts. Our ten teams will then head to Barcelona and Monte Carlo (tbc) for the final two weekends of May. After a three week break GP3 will then return to action at Valencia Street Circuit for round four on 25-26 June. In July, one of the busiest months on the calendar, GP3 heads to Silverstone, then Nurburgring and Budapest back-to-back before the three week summer break. Spa-Francorchamps is the setting for the penultimate round, and once again the season will conclude at historical Autodromo di Monza in Italy on 10-11 September. A total of eight pre-season test days will be held firstly at Paul Ricard on 3-4 March, followed by Silverstone on 29-30-31 and finally Barcelona on 12-13-14 April. 2011 GP3 Series calendar of events: Date / Venue  3-4 March Paul Ricard, France  Test  29-30-31 March  Silverstone, Great Britain  Test 12-13-14 April  Barcelona, Spain  Test  7-8 May Istanbul, Turkey  Race  21-22 May  Barcelona, Spain  Race  27-28 May*  Monte Carlo, Monaco   Race  25-26 June   Valencia, Spain   Race  9-10 July Silverstone, Great Britain   Race  23-24 July Nurburgring, Germany   Race  30-31 July  Budapest, Hungary   Race  27-28 August  Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium  Race  10-11 September  Monza, Italy   Race  *TBC Following the results of the 2010 GP3 Series Teams Standings, the 2011 grid will carry the following numbers:  Team  #  Lotus ART  1,2,3 Status Grand Prix  4,5,6 Jenzer Motorsport  7,8,9 Manor Racing  10,11,12 Carlin  14,15,16 Tech1 Racing  17,18,19 Atech CRS GP  20,21,22 Addax Team  23,24,25 MW Arden  26,27,28 RSC Mücke Motorsport  29,30,31
