Sam Tordoff will step up to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for the 2011 season when he joins the race-winning Team Parker Racing.In 2010 Sam (21) scored race wins in the Renault Clio Cup on his way to third place in the overall standings and victory in the Graduate Cup. Leeds-based Tordoff was also recognised as one of Britain's up and coming talents when he was selected for the British Racing Drivers' Club Rising Stars Programme.In October, Sam was one of the six finalists in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship programme. Having gained a taste for the Carrera Cup, Sam pursued a drive in the championship and is delighted to have joined Stuart Parker and his crew at Team Parker Racing."It's obviously a huge step up from the Clio Cup I've driven for the last two years," said Sam. "The driving style is completely different and the heel-and-toe takes a bit of getting used to. But, by the end of a day’s testing at Donington Park I was lapping consistently quickly and my best time was only three-tenths off Euan Hankey's qualifying time from 2010, which I was very happy with. To compete in the 2011 Carrera Cup GB with a race-winning team such as Team Parker Racing is fantastic."Stuart Parker is very pleased to have signed the Yorkshire youngster. "It is always fantastic when you get young and motivated drivers in the team as their enthusiasm helps to push the team on.
