Juta Racing plans return to Porsche Carrera Cup GB
Juta Racing will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2011 to field a two-car team as lead driver Jonas Gelzinis targets the pro-am1 title for the Lithuanian squad.Juta Racing joined the Carrera Cup GB for 2010 with cars for Gelzinis and Tautvydas Barstys and immediately made a great impression despite being new to the British racing scene. Now, the team is planning a second season with two of the latest model 911 GT3 Cup cars.Jonas (22), the elder son of team boss Audrius Gelzinis, quickly showed plenty of natural pace and won the pro-am1 category five times last season to finish category runner-up to Ollie Jackson. His success came despite the fact that every track on the schedule was new to him until pre-race testing on Fridays. "It will be much easier now that I know all of the circuits," said Jonas of his aim to go one better in 2011.Barstys, meanwhile, had a solid learning year and will aim to build on his experience this season. If the Lithuanian businessman has to miss any races, the younger of the Gelzinis brothers, 19-year old Ignis, is waiting in the wings, keen to get a chance to show his pace.As in 2010, the team will base its truck and cars in the UK and then commute from Lithuania for each of the 10 race weekends.
