Asia Racing Team started the 2011 season off on the right foot. Zhi Cong Li, Naomi Zhang Ran, andTimothy Teo completed their first pre-season testing ahead the Chinese New Year at the ZhuhaiInternational Circuit, with promising results.

AFR Series race winner Zhi Cong Li development continued to shine as the Asian Formula Renaultseries sophomore left an indelible exclamation mark after his six-day testing performance. TheChinese rising star quickly put up very strong times and made great progress experimenting variousadjustments and correcting his driving mistakes.

Zhang Ran continued to explore new settings and amendments, and valuable information was gainedand steps forward were made. The quickest female driver in China had a very good end of season butalready break this winter her best lap time around the China’s first permanent motor race track.Timothy Teo is new to the sport but he has been impressing the team with his pace, application andfeedback. The fearless Singaporean driver follows in the footsteps of single seaters racer compatriotSuriya Bala as he completes a test programme with the Asian Formula Renault championship winningteam.

Philippe Descombes “With the 2011 racing season fast approaching, we need to start testingnow. This test was only the beginning and a reflection of the drivers potential as things gotoff to a very good start. We know Zhi Cong Li and Zhang Ran from last season. Zhi Cong Liwill be one to watch this season, and Zhang Ran is slowly improving her pace. The teamhave been very impressed with Tim. I think this pre season testing will give him a reallygood indication of how he needs to develop as a driver as his career continues. We willrestart the preparation in mid February, when we expect Suriya Bala to join us.”
