Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship new to the Sunoco Daytona Challenge

Anglo American Oil Company has announced that the Britcar MSA British GT Endurance Championship will now be eligible for the Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge.

British GT Endurance racers will now be entitled to enter the Sunoco Daytona Challenge and in turn compete for a seat with a race team at the Daytona 24 hours in January 2012, which be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

MD of Anglo American Oil Company and promoter of the Sunoco Daytona Challenge, Anders Hildebrand, said: ‘The MSA British Endurance Championship is a high-profile series with strong, talented drivers. It fits perfectly with the type of drivers we’re looking for so we’ve decided to add the series to our roster.’

The other participating series for 2011 are the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series and  the Avon Tyres British GT Championship. All drivers across the series will score points ranging from 100pts for first place down to 5pts for tenth place with 20pts for pole and fastest lap.

The Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge prize is arguably the largest value prize in UK motorsport and consists of:

·         1 full test day in the UK

·         8 full test days in the US at VIR, Miami and Daytona.

·         A race seat in a top team at the 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona

·         All flights and hotels included
