BIRMINGHAM have snapped up German international Kevin Wolbert for their debut Elite League campaign.Wolbert, 21, has the winning habit in British racing having won the Premier League title with Edinburgh last season, and he will share a team position with James Wright for the Perry Barr club whilst still lining up full-time for the Monarchs.Brummies boss Graham Drury said: "Kevin is one of the most highly rated riders in the Premier League and there were other clubs interested in signing him at Elite League level."I believe we now have two strong doubling-up partnerships with Kevin and James, plus Ben Barker and Rene Bach, all top riders in the Premier League who can come into our team and really make a difference."

NEWPORT have completed their National League team with the signings of Richard Andrews and Matt Bates.Both riders hail from Devon although 18-year-old Andrews is a club asset, whilst Bates (21) joins on loan having completed last season with Plymouth.Newport co-promoter Nick Mallett said: "'We are pleased to welcome Richard back into our ranks while Matt had a strong record with clubs such as Weymouth, Mildenhall and Plymouth in recent seasons and I am sure will provide good back-up for our top two Jay (Herne) and Todd (Kurtz). With their geographic base we have added an Exeter Express to our ambitions."
