The new Masters Sports-Prototypes category for Group C/GTP sports cars is taking shape for 2011 with a number of exciting entries and a confirmed calendar of five great historic events.
With the confirmation that the category will now be included into the prestigious September Spa 6-Hours event, the Masters Sports-Prototypes series has a great season to look forward to from the inaugural event at Barcelona in April, through Brands Hatch, Porto, Donington Park and Spa.
Chris Randall, who will compete in the series, said: “It is brilliant news to have a Spa date on the calendar. Really, it is the best circuit to drive these cars at so I’m really looking forward to it. The great thing about racing with Masters is that you can do lots of different races in one weekend, which cuts down your overall costs of a season racing. I can’t wait!”
Masters Sports-Prototypes Series Co-ordinator, Sean Roberts, said; ‘We are very excited by the five-event calendar we have confirmed for MS-P and the inclusion into the Spa event in September is great news. There is lots of interest in the new-to-Masters series and we are expecting numbers to build and build through the year. These cars are a real compliment to the Masters Festival formula and owners of this era of car now have a more cost-effective way to race at dedicated historic events including quality hospitality.”
