Alonso and di Resta take ‘poll position’ in recent survey

Just a week ahead of Motor Sport Magazine’s 2011 Hall of Fame, Motor Sport’s readers share their pre-season thoughts on Formula One in an informative survey*.As the start of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship draws near, it appears that 46% of Motor Sport’s readers have high hopes for Spaniard Fernando Alonso winning this year’s drivers’ title.Meanwhile, Force India will be pleased to hear that 51% of Motor Sport Magazine fans think Paul di Resta will be the most impressive rookie on-track this season. There seems no doubt in the minds of Motor Sport’s audience that Red Bull Racing will once again clinch the constructors’ championship.F1 fans that voted in the poll also believe that Mercedes GP will be the most improved team on the Formula One grid in 2011.With Motor Sport Magazine’s Hall of Fame celebrating the careers of some of the greatest names in motor racing, it seemed fitting that this recent survey should also pay tribute to past heroes that made Formula One the global phenomenon it is today. The legendary Jim Clark, a founding inductee of the Hall of Fame, has proved to be the fans’ favourite, voted the greatest F1 driver of all time.Scoring the highest percentage in the entire survey were Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, stealing the lime light with 68% of votes for the greatest rivalry ever seen in Formula One.Many names and faces from the world of motor racing will continue celebrating and honouring the greatest personalities in the industry, by attending Motor Sport Magazine’s Hall of Fame at the Roundhouse in Camden on Tuesday 15 February 2011. Now in its second year as an annual awards event, four new inductees will be invited into the prestigious Hall of Fame in recognition of their achievements in the sport.
