POOLE has been named as the venue for the opening round of the 2011 WorldUnder-21 Championship.The Wimborne Road circuit will stage the first of four meetings in theseries with Pirates star Darcy Ward looking to complete a hat-trick oftitles.Promoter Matt Ford said: "This is a great privilege and honour for the cluband we will be out to make it a memorable occasion. With the FIM awarding usthe staging it endorses what we are proud of here at Poole - a fabulousvenue and a good race track."It will be the perfect opportunity to see the world's top young racers inaction and I really believe this will be an event that no speedway fan willwant to miss."

DUDLEY Heathens have promoted teenager Darryl Ritchings into their startingline-up for the new season.Ritchings, 16, spent last season patiently waiting for his chance as theteam's stand-by rider but was also hit by injury and bike problems.He said: "I can't wait for the season to start, I'm really looking forwardto joining the Heathens again this season as last year I was No. 8."The amount of support the team received when I competed in two meetings wasawesome, plus the more meetings I watched the support grew. I just hope Ican score some points to help the Heathens grab some silverware!"
