Round 1: Southern Autos, 13 February
Duncan Stephens began his MSA British Car Trial Championship title defence by dominating the Southern Autos trial.
Stephens took a comfortable win ahead of Barrie Parker amid wet and challenging conditions. Dave Oliver also delivered a brilliant performance to move clear of Malcolm Brown, who earned his best class result for almost two years.
Meanwhile John Moffatt, the 1999 MSA British Autotest Champion, was a very creditable sixth in class on only his second car trial, with 2003 Autotest Champion Roger Holder ranked ninth in class despite never having seen a car trial before.Results1 Duncan Stephens (Vauxhall Nova) 31%2 Barrie Parker (VW Scirocco) 61%3 Dave Oliver (Hillman Imp) 87%4 Colin Reid (Fiat Panda) 92%5 Dave Smith (Reliant Tempest) 100%
