Round 1: Rallye Sunseeker International, 25-26 February
Reigning MSA Scottish Rally Champions David Bogie and Kevin Rae secured their maiden Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship event win on the season-opening Rallye Sunseeker International.
Bogie’s victory is the first for a Scot in the BRC since Alister McRae won the Scottish Rally in 1997. “It’s been a dream of mine to win a round of the BRC for ages,” said Bogie. “We had a great day but had a big scare three stages from home when we got mud on the screen. By the time it cleared we were flat out in fifth half way across a field!”
Welsh youngster Tom Cave and his co-driver Craig Parry recorded three scratch times en route to second place overall on their championship debut. Third was Team UK crew and Pirelli Star Driver winners Elfyn Evans and Andrew Edwards aboard their Subaru Impreza.
