Asia Racing Team has announced participation in the brand new 2011 Formula Pilota China series.
The team is planning to contest the six-round Asian Series with at least three cars. A driver line-up announcement is expected shortly.Formula Abarth was introduced in Italy in 2010, and its expands for 2011 to include the inauguralAsian and European Series. Named as Formula Pilota China in Asia, as a junior formula, it is ideallyplaced to train drivers from karting or beginner categories to prepare them for Formula 3 or GP3.With six rounds tabled for the 2011 Asian season, the geographical reach of the Championshipincludes Mainland China and Malaysia.
The Macau team based in Zhuhai has a track record of building successful open-wheel drivers in theregion. Founded in 2003, Asia Racing Team started winning right from the first season of activity,clinching the teams’ championship for four times and the drivers championship last season. With sucha record, there’s no doubt that Asia Racing Team have everything it’s needed to fight for the topspots right from its debut in Formula Pilota Asia.
Tatuus has employed a carbon fibre chassis, which is fitted with the 1.4 turbocharged Abarth enginetuned by Fiat Powertrain Technologies with 180bhp, and transmission supplied by Sadev, featuring a6-speed sequential gearbox.
Asia Racing Team’s experience with Tatuus’ products is not confined to the professional racing series.The ART Motorsports Racing School is the only formal driver-training course recognized by both theHong Kong Automobile Association (HKAA) and the Associação Geral Automóvel Macau-China(AAMC), and it uses Tatuus’ Formula Renault cars.
