Round five of the Doodson Motorsport Championship scheduled for Chesterfield on June 5th has had a change of venue.
The event, Round five will now be run at Carlton near Helmsley (YO62 5HH) in North Yorkshire - due to unforeseen difficulties with the paddock and parking area at Chesterfield.
The Woodland venue at Carlton near Helmsley, which rideoffroaduk have sole use of, was used for the second round of the Championship back at the beginning of March. We have taken onboard feedback from that event. We can now let all our club members, and non members know that we will be widening the track to create more passing places, and removing any tree stumps which came through.
Machines are, over the next two weeks going to be working away preparing the woodland plantation ready for the action on June 5th.
This will allow greater freedom for overtaking, faster and slower lines can then be used, and above all, the course will cope better with the entry expected for this crucial half way stage in the 2011 Doodson Motorsport Championship.
The track will also be graded, and MORE new loops will be added to the already top class enduro track we have in place. The start and pits area have already been widened and graded.
Hard standing paddock and a superbly well drained woodland means this event will be very enjoyable for any rider who attends whatever the weather conditions.
