Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) took his second win of the day yesterday and his sixth of the year when he was victorious in WSB race two at MMP, leading home the Aprilia Alitalia duo of Leon Camier and Max Biaggi with some degree of ease.

Fourth place went to Eugene Laverty and Yamaha, with Michel Fabrizio making a fine return from a race one fall to record fifth for Suzuki Alstare. Marco Melandri had an eventually lonely run to sixth on his Yamaha World Superbike machine. Guintoli, Smrz, Badovini and Sykes rounded out the top ten, with star names Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser not making the end of the race.

In the championship standings, Checa leads with 195 points, from Melandri on 134, Biaggi on 133 and Laverty on 109.
