Jim Clark International Rally, 27-28 May
Reigning champion Damian Cole, co-driven for the first time by James Morgan, claimed a maximum points haul on the Jim Clark International Rally for the second year in a row.
After 120 miles of stages Cole’s winning margin was 5.2 seconds, which puts his title campaign back on track following a retirement on the last round on the Isle of Man. The Subaru Impreza WRC of Steve Simpson and Patrick Walsh finished second ahead of Simon Mauger and Brian Cammack, whose two-wheel-drive Ford Escort MkII struggled in the unpredictable weather conditions.
John Stone’s fifth place in his Skoda Fabia WRC was more than enough to maintain his championship lead ahead of David Hardie and John Indri, who finished seventh and eighth respectively.
