All three Atech CRS GP drivers have spent two days at the official GP3 test at the Hungaroring circuit near Budapest. Conditions didn’t play into the team’s hands with very hot conditions followed by rain in the afternoon limiting progress. Each driver tested a variety of set-up options and new suspension geometries.
Nick Yelloly: “We struggled a little with not being able to get me or the car quite right. We missed the cooler conditions this morning and when I got out it rained so I didn’t get the benefit of new tyres. We’ve tested a lot of things and hopefully we’ll put it together for Valencia.“
Marlon Stockinger: “Our progress has not been as fast as we would like on the time sheets which is always disappointing but I think we will benefit from trying the set-ups we have worked on here. I’m just looking forward to getting to the next race and feeling better prepared.”
Zoel Amberg: “I had a good race weekend in Barcelona and I think the work we have done here will help with my progress and pace.”
Team Principal David Hayle: “The test has been productive but I know the drivers find it frustrating that the changes that worked didn’t all happen for one fast lap. The suspension work will definitely help us in Valencia, and we will arrive there with much better data than before this test. ”
On 16-17 June a further two day test takes place on the street circuit of Valencia before the next event at the same circuit on 25-26 June.
