DUDLEY have confirmed the return of Adam Roynon to their National League team after his comeback from a broken leg.Roynon will compete for the Heathens in the National League Fours at Stoke on Saturday, with his replacement Kyle Newman standing down from the side in accordance with their agreement struck in April.Club chairman Nigel Pearson said: “Kyle has been a credit to the Heathens and to himself. We could have kept him and brought Adam back to replace someone else but that would be a win at all cost attitude and Kyle is also busy with Newcastle and Poole."He will be invited to our end of season presentation night as our guest and he is also hoping to come to a home meeting to say farewell to the fans. He is welcome back at Dudley Heathens anytime along with his father. They will always be friends of the club."

LEE Smethills has joined Scunthorpe/Sheffield in the National League after Greg Blair announced his decision to retire from the sport.29-year-old Smethills recently lost his team place at the Isle of Wight but is a former Sheffield rider from his time in the Premier League.Team boss Stuart Parnaby said: “I was concerned we were going to run out of riders and our title hopes fade but this signing goes a long way to help. Lee was going okay for the Isle of Wight but they just decided that he and Brendan Johnson should make way for Danny Warwick.“It is a shame that Greg has decided to retire but I respect his decision. He has had a lot of big injuries for someone so young and there is no doubt his gung-ho style makes him susceptible to crashes. He is a great entertainer but broken bone after broken bone isn’t good.”

MILDENHALL have confirmed that Joe Jacobs will step into their side for the National League Fours at Stoke on Saturday.Jacobs replaces Daniel Halsey, who suffered a lower back injury in the win over Hackney last weekend and will be rested ahead of the Fen Tigers’ trip to Dudley next Tuesday.Co-promoter Michael Lee said: “We were hoping Danny would be fit again, as he hasn't had many meetings over the last few weeks, and with August looking like the busiest month of the season we thought the rides would do him good.  “But it was a nasty fall and we just need him to rest up before our league match at Dudley on Tuesday. Joe is a more than capable replacement and if all the boys ride as they can, we have a real chance of victory.”
